We stopped in on a Friday night, the food was delicious, Especially that cranberry bread, one of the best breads I’ve ever had! Everything we had was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Our server David was amazing, very knowledgeable & helpful when it came to the menu. He took time to explain all the cheeses and cured meats. Highly recommend this restaurant, please stop by and give this gem a try!
Food is delicious. I had the grilled chicken with mushrooms and broccolini- the chicken was juicy and the broccolini was fresh very good presentation. The other at table had Salmon tasty and cooked exactly as needed. Crab soup also recommended. Service is good and attentive. The menu is extensive and there are much more items to explore.
My husband and I ate at this restaurant for the first time, it was when they first opened. Our experience was amazing. When we visited the second time for our anniversary the service was terrible and my husband's food (fish) was burnt. We will not be eating their again. We found a new restaurant near our home and have eaten there several times and were pleased every time. Tuscany is our new sport.
We had a birthday party of 15 on a busy Saturday night. Our service was beyond excellent and every single person raved about their food. We were all sharing a bit because we loved it so much, and every bite was spectacular. I had the lobster ravioli, which might be the best I’ve ever had. It was a total success from start to finish. 10 stars!
Holy Smokes!!! Finally we have a GREAT Italian restaurant in the neighborhood!!!!
Everything was cooked perfectly. The calamari was spot on, perfect temp, perfect fry, etc. melted in your mouth. The pasta and fish dishes full of great flavors and herbs and spices.
We took the waiters recommendation on food and wine and were not disappointed. I recommend doing the same. Everything was pared perfectly.
This place is amazing but there are limited tables causing LONG waits, but worth it. Therefore I suggest using the call ahead seating, they don't do reservations. when we left over 15 people standing waiting for a table.
Parking is horrible. The restaurant and neighboring business sharing the building are very popular and the builder built the place at the min. parking requirement, horrible. The City should up their min. parking space req.
Anyway, would I go here again? YES YES and YES! Hat's off to the owners!
Awesome! Absolutely wonderful location. Such a comforting area to sit outside, enjoy dinner, and walk around the cool spots that surrounds this restaurant. Food was great. Everything was cooked and prepared wonderfully. Shrimp and grits were on the salty side, I’m sure from the drippings from the bacon. Butterscotch creme brûlée was good, creamier than most, with a very rich butterscotch flavor. Ricotta cheesecake definitely tasted more like ricotta than cheesecake. Drinks were great. Seating was nice. Bathrooms were clean. Service was fantastic. Great night out!
I'm a little late on this review.
We ate there the night before graduation with our out of town guests. It was our first time here, and we will definitely be going back.
For appetizers, we had a couple of the Tagli Misti boards, and they were delicious. My entree was the Potatoe Crusted Sea Bass with I parmesan Crusted asparagus (something like that) and da*n, it was so freaking good.
I can't remember what everyone else had, but who cares, that fish alone is worth going for.
The only thing off about the night was the waitress. While she was nice enough, she did make us feel rushed. But, it was late, reservations were for 8:15, so I'm sure that played a part in it.
We tried Rena's last night for the first time. I wouldn't say we're food snobs, but we are pretty picky when it comes to Italian food, especially. I grew up in an Italian family, and we do a lot of cooking. We've also had the immense pleasure of going to Italy twice, so far, and the food there is amazing.
So, for the most part our experience was good at Rena's. First of all, our server, Sarah, was great. I would ask for her if/when we go back. I'll start with the positives. The service was very good overall, I'll explain more in a minute. The drinks were good, although my negroni was a little sweet for my taste. I started with the scallop appetizer, which was terrific, and then on to veal piccata, also very good. My wife had a salad and then pasta with pomodoro sauce. The grated cheese was real, and of course, we always say yes to fresh cracked pepper.
On to my one issue. My wife has allergies to preservatives, yes it's a bit strange and took forever to diagnose. She's a good sport about it and very attentive to ingredients now. It does, however, pose a challenge with going out to eat. She carries a card that shows what she can't have, so that makes it easier. Our server, Sarah, was very attentive and helpful the whole time. She went and talked to the chef and manager, and came back and very apologetically said they weren't able to cook any protein because of the cooking oil they use. My wife had asked for salmon, but again the oil. However, they brought bread and butter to the table, and surely an Italian restaurant has at least a little olive oil somewhere one would think. Anyway, my wife handled it gracefully, and again, Sarah was trying very hard. I just feel like, maybe the chef and manager could have thought outside the box a little and used a small pan with either butter or olive oil to cook a piece of protein. All in all, though, it was a good experience, and I think we would try it again, and maybe try to talk directly to the chef and/or manager, and the prices weren't too bad. My wife would not write a review to complain, and maybe I'm being too protective. It deserved 4 stars.
